3/12/13
Today we filmed a basic music video which was just the 2 actors stood against a white background singing their parts to a still camera, we did this so that we could get practise lip syncing.

9/12/13
Today we edited the filmed clips, mentioned above, together with the song to practise basic editing with lip syncing, it took a few attempts to master it but now I understand how to do it it is easy.

17/12/13
Today me and my group uploaded our filmed clips on to the macs and began to roughly edit together a draft of our music video, we did this in iMovie.

7/1/14
Today we finished the rough edit and began to tighten up the editing of the video and asked our course tutor for feedback on our video and some advice on how we can improve it,
We need to do some re-shoots to use in the video due to continuity problems and to break up long shots so that it isn't just a person stood singing at the camera.

21/1/14
After filming the re-shoots we began to edit the new clips into the video breaking up the long shots, we also filmed some shots in an improvised airport check in desk, this will link the video to the lyrics of the song, we played about a bit with different camera angles and decided that a mid shot from the back of the main character and then a birds eye view shot, we edited the birds eye view shot so that it looked like CCTV camera footage.

6/1/14 - 18/2/14
Continued to edit the video to a more advanced video with tighter syncing we decided that the used of the airport scene to link the video to the lyrics was effective so we decided to shoot a few more scenes to link to the lyrics so we shot and edited into the video the use of a removal van for the part  "me and my momma hop in the u-haul van" and a shot of the exterior of a KFC restaurant for the part of "Split the bucket at KFC".

18/2/14
Finished editing the video and played it through a few times just to make sure there are aren't  anomalies and if there are then we will re-edit those bits.

Filming diary

I am making a diary of all my filming dates and what i have filmed on these dates.

2/12/13:

Filming a shot of main road for use on green screen.

3/12/13:

Filmed a lip sync video for practice editing and filming.

9/12/13:
Filmed all the shots for verse 3, I was not at the filming because I was in the classroom updating paper work and my blog.

11/12/13:
I filmed a narrative piece for second verse, using my schools common room as a airport waiting room.

12/12/13:
I went to Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster to film an establishing shot for the previous days filming.

13/12/13:
The other students in my group have filmed some shots for the first verse, I could not attend this filming as I was at volunteer work.

I have filled out an editing booking form so the 2 editors can edit the music video together.
